So I've been trying to write this book for the past year... It's turning out well, for a first novel anyways.
I've heard all of this speculation that first novels almost never get published. That's probably the most disheartening news a writer will ever hear. *sigh*
But I'm so completely in love with the idea of my novel, like head-over-heels infatuated. I'm going to write it and I'm going to get it published no matter what anyone tells me, because I want other people to read it and fall in love with it as well.
At least that's what I'm telling myself.
I'm almost halfway through, 35,000 words. It's pretty much the hardest thing I've ever done. But I'm commited. It may be months and months and months before it'll be readable, but eventually it will be. At least somewhat.
