So I had my first jury summons today. It was fucking lame. Did you know - you can get anywhere from $5-$15 a day for being a juror. Wooooo! We're in the money now, right? Fuuuuuck that.
I wasted 4 hours of work which is roughly $45. Do you know how much court fees are? Let's put it this way, a DUI will cost you roughly $20k. None of that money is going to the jury that's for damn sure. It's going to line the fat wallets of the judges and DAs and Lawyers and so on and so such.
One mistake=years and years of life savings down the drain.
And they can't even "afford" to pay their jurors a decent wage for taking time out of THEIR lives to listen to a bunch of pissing and moaning about stuff that nobody cares about.
So they dismissed me almost immediately upon reaching the juror's box. I had been giving everyone the evil eye all damn day and I was so pissed off steam was practically shooting out of my ears.
I'm not at all pleased that our corrupt legal system can just ruin my day whenever they damn well please.
The prosecutor should be glad she dismissed me so promptly, I was going to vote not guilty irregardless of her whiney bantering...
